The Annual Buxton Decorative, Antiques & Art Fair is celebrating! This year marks its 60th event and a sumptuous occasion is planned with fine art and antique dealers promising a superb display of treasures to fill Buxton Pavilion Gardens’ famous Octagon building.

Widely recognised as one of the most important antiques fairs in thecalendar of the UK art market, the fair features specialist dealers from across the country. Visitors arrive from across the Midlands, Yorkshire and Cheshire to view and buy a selection of the finest pieces available in today’s art market.

The fair offers something for everyone, from classic jewellery, silver and ceramics to fine paintings, period furniture, copper and brass, Art Deco and Art Nouveau furniture and decorative items, Persian rugs, fine glass, impressive mirrors, antiquarian maps and prints; French sculpture, Chinese and Japanese collector’s items and much more.

‘We are looking forward to a wonderful fair,’ says organiser Sue Ede. ‘This is a celebrated event and the longest running antiques fair in the country. Its endurance is a credit to the many exhibitors who have shown over the years, always providing a collection of wonderful pieces that draws buyers from across the country.’

Many of the exhibitors having been showing at the fair for more than ten years, some much longer. From Derbyshire, Peter Bunting Antiques promises a selection of early English and Continental furniture from the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries, plus rare portraits, carvings and statuary.
