Cheshire antiques specialist Atilia Arts will be making their debut at The Cheshire Decorative, Antiques & Art Fair at the
Chester Racecourse Grandstand, running from 16th – 18th October 2026.
Antilia arts will be specialising in 19th century English furniture and decorative pieces and among their exhibits will be a fine
pair of Italian 19th century demi-lune neo-classical painted console tables, 151cm wide, priced at £6250.00.

This popular Cheshire fair returns to Chester Racecourse following a successful event in February. Says organiser Sue Ede from Cooper Fairs: ‘We’re back at the Racecourse Grandstand with a fantastic selection of art and antiques and we’re joined by several specialist dealers who will be showing for the first time, adding yet more choice for visitors.’
The new faces also include Art Haus NY showing contemporary paintings, sculpture and limited-edition prints and designer pieces. Among works featured will be pieces by Howard Hodgkin, John Hoyland, Takashi Murakami and Walasse Ting.
Also new will be Hawkesworth, specialising in early and vintage Mouseman pieces and items by craftsmen often referred to as “Yorkshire Critters”, cabinet makers who branched off from the Mouseman parent company in the 1960s and 1970s to run their own workshops.
Bowland Antiques from Lancashire also make their debut with a range of 18th, 19th and early 20th century ceramics, silver and pictures, featuring a selection of rare First Period Worcester Blue & White pieces. Another new face will be Class Antiques, specialising in rare silver.
Mark Brown Fine Art returns to the fair, specialising in paintings, drawings and prints, including a striking work by Terry Frost RA titled Red and Black Squeeze, dated 2001, priced at £1,900.

Also returning is Vicky Thomas Antiques from Manchester specialising in unusual works of art and collector’s pieces. Among Vicky’s exhibits will be superb 16th century Corpus Christi figure, carved from Lime or Lindenwood, retaining much of the original polychrome and gilding, and with all four limbs, unlike many similar carvings of the era.

Vicky describes the Christ figure as quite large, standing 37cm high, with an arm span of 36cm, and is elegantly carved with well-defined musculature and sinews that evoke the struggle of what the body is going through. He is depicted wearing his crown of thorns, his perizoma knotted over his hip, and his head turned to the right in an expression of stoic serenity. Stylistically the carving is very close to the Italian style, but this figure more than likely originated in Southern Germany. It is priced at £860.00.
The Cheshire fair is widely respected for offering a connoisseur’s range of fine quality antiques, works of art and decorative pieces from the 16th to 21st century. Connoisseurs and collectors from across the Northwest have been flocking to the fair at the Racecourse Grandstand Pavilion since 1989.
Among exhibitors from the Northwest will be well-known furniture specialists Mike and Margaret Melody, showing a wide range of town and country pieces and unusual collectables. Solo Antiques from Lancashire return with Art Nouveau and Art Deco glass and bronze sculpture, including figurative works. And from Ludlow, Mark Rowles Fine Art shows fine late 19th and 20th century paintings, watercolours and contemporary sculpture.
Prices range from less than £20 for small items of silver and unusual collectables to more than £50,000 for the finest works of art.
The fair runs daily and includes a restaurant for light lunches and refreshments.
