A fabulous range of the finest art and antiques go on sale at The Pavilions of Harrogate Decorative, Antiques & Art Fair at the Great Yorkshire Showground, 6th – 8th February 2026.

Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Mid-Century Modern and decorative and designer pieces feature together with a selection of traditional Georgian, Victorian and earlier furniture, paintings and collector’s pieces. ‘It’s a treasure trove of desirable objets d’art,’ explains organiser Sue Ede, ‘plus jewellery and a host of luxury accessories to tempt everyone.’

Among the returning exhibitors to this regular winter event will be specialist Art Deco dealer Andrew Muir (shown here) who promises a range of stylish and eye-catching pieces including studio pottery by such popular makers as Clarice Cliff and Susie Cooper in addition to rare European pieces by the leading designers of the period.

Also showing will be Blackbrook Gallery, known for their rare collection of paintings featuring prize-winning farm animals and racehorses. Featuring this January will be a superb horse study titled Portrait of a Beauty painted by Thomas Stringer in 1782 and priced at £9,500. (left). Equally appealing will be ‘Feeding the Pigs’, by William Gunning King, dated 1924, and one of a series of paintings commissioned by Bibby and Co. promoting their animal feeds between the two wars. Among several galleries specialising in Modern British and Contemporary works will be Carnes Fine Art who promise the strong theme of Northern Art with highly collectable pieces by Alan Lowndes and Harold Riley, following in Lowry’s footsteps. Particularly powerful will be Lowndes’ Loyalty Place, Stockport Power Station, dated 1953 and priced at £34,500. A superb antique silver, rock crystal and horn snuff mull probably made in Scotland around 1820 will feature on the stand of silver specialist Mike Wilson from Highland Antiques. The silver top is beautifully decorated with swags, swirls and flowers, and a rock crystal set in the top. It is priced at £695.00. Mike will also be offering a beautiful Victorian antique silver mug made in London in 1862 by George Adams of Henry Chawner and Co, among many other fine items.

From West Yorkshire, John Newton Antiques will be showing a fine selection of ceramics including a range of rare 20th century German studio earthenware pottery including an eye-catching modernist study of a horse (right) by the sought-after designer Elfriede Balzar Kopp (1904-83), measuring 25.5cm tall. Also of importance will be a large and interesting vase made in the Höhr Grenzhausen studios of Elfriede Balzar Kopp. This is hand painted with a stunning ‘Retro Bird’ design in traditional enamels and a fabulous salt glaze, and measures 40.5cm tall. It is priced at £465.00.

A vast range of high-quality art and antiques will be for sale from more than 45 specialist dealers. Prices range from less than £50 for a simple Georgian drinking glass to more than £20,000 for the finest antique furniture, silver and modern and traditional paintings.

Yorkshire antique dealers include Walker Gallery with fine paintings, Mark Buckley Antiques with formal English antique furniture, and Ellis Fine Art specialising in oil paintings and town furniture.

The fair takes place in the comfortable surroundings of the Pavilions Suite within the Yorkshire Showground complex located close to Harrogate town centre. Free parking make this an easy venue to visit while a restaurant provides light lunches, morning refreshments and afternoon teas. The fair has been running for more than 30 years at the venue.
