The Cotswolds Decorative Antiques Fair Is Back
After more than 18 months, the popular Cotswolds Decorative,
Antiques & Art Fair returns to Westonbirt School, Tetbury,
Gloucestershire from 13th
– 15th August 2021.
Featuring art and antiques specialists from across the UK, the
popular summer event at Westonbirt School is the place to buy
everything from the most traditional antique pieces to the latest in
chic and decorative style.
Says organiser Sue Ede: ‘This is where people come to decorate
and furnish their homes in their own personal style. The fair offers
a special mix of decorative antique and 20th century pieces with
fine art, collector’s pieces and personal items such as jewellery,
silver, watches and vintage fashion.’

King George Antiques
Among the many highlights will be a fabulous
collection of historic watercolour paintings of the
Cotswolds to be shown by Newman Fine Art from
Painswick. Among the wonderful depictions of
villages and countryside from the golden age of
British watercolour painting will be a view of
Painswick by Noel Harry Leaver (1889-1951), a
much admired Yorkshire artist who at 16 was one
of the youngest ever pupils of the Royal College of
Art where he passed with first class honours. He
travelled all over
Europe and North
Africa painting as he went before returning to a teaching post
at Halifax School of Art where he worked until 1915. After this
he taught at the Burnley School of art up until the mid 1930’s
and painted widely across Britain.

paintings stand out in any display. Also by Leaver will be a painting of Winchcombe’s
picturesque high street complete with figures but no cars, making it even more attractive.
Also familiar to Cotswolds visitors will be a charming watercolour painting of Tewkesbury
Abbey from ‘across the Swill gate’ by the artist David Bates (1840-1921) and a view of
Wickham Bridge, Stapleton, near Bristol, dated 1864 by Charles Branwhite (1817-1880).
There will be a wide range of pieces on sale at the fair, such as a fabulous range of 20th
century vintage handbags and Hollywood style costume jewellery belonging to Twentieth
Century Glamour and Modern British paintings from Granta Fine Art.
Specialising in traditional English Georgian and Regency antiques will be W.R.Harvey while
King George Antiques show architectural salvage, furniture, mirrors, lighting and rugs and
Paul Burnett Antiques & Interiors specialises in mirrors, lighting, antiquities and decorative
silver and accessories.
Scandinavian by Design show Mid-Century Modern furniture, Freya Mitton specialises in
20th century Modern British paintings and Candice Horley shows 20th century porcelain and
art prints. Plaza specialises in fine jewellery.
Cotswolds Decorative, Antiques & Art Fair takes place in the atmospheric setting of
Westonbirt House, now a prestigious school, occupying the Great Hall, Orangery and
adjoining rooms. Stylish antiques, superb paintings, decorative delights and all kinds of rare
and unusual antique treasures go on sale with prices from less than £20 to more than
£20,000.
Approximately 40 dealers offer plenty of choice for interior designers and the seasoned and
first-time collectors. In addition, there is a range of exquisite personal gifts including antique
jewellery, watches, mid-20th century designer jewellery and accessories.
